You have decided to sell your house and now you are wondering if you should try to sell it yourself or use a professional to help you through the process. Although it is becoming increasingly more popular for people to sell their own house as a Do It Yourself (DIY) project, it is not always the best option.

One of the many benefits of working with a professional such as a Fort St. John realtor, is the knowledge and expertise they have. Real estate agents sell homes for a living, so they automatically have more experience. They know how to properly negotiate with buyers in order to give you the best deal. Although realtors charge a commission fee, they still are more likely to save you more money in the long run because of their negotiation capability.

Yet, setting the right price is crucial. You need to avoid the two price “tipping points” that, if crossed, can cause you a lot of problems.

The first tipping point is a price that’s low enough for buyers to begin thinking something is wrong. They wonder, “Why is your price so low? What are you not telling us about your property?” But that’s not even the worst problem with this tipping point. If you do get offers at that low price, you’ll have a bigger issue – leaving thousands of dollars on the table.

The other tipping point is setting your price so high it

If you are looking to sell your Fort St. John real estate, holding an open house is a great way to attract potential buyers and increase the attention to your home.

There are countless ways to make sure your open house is a success, from using the correct marketing tools, to planning the best date and time for your event.

When you begin to plan your open house, it is important to consider both the date and the time. Pay attention to local patterns of activity and try to plan for when the most people will be in your local area.

The best days to hold open houses in the Fall are usually on the weekends when most people are off work. Most open houses are held from 1 pm to 3 pm or from 2 pm to 4 pm, but even 3 pm to 5 pm is an ideal time frame.
